Maximize Your Potential Through Online Classes And Benefit From A Higher Wage

If you are considering getting your Master’s degree, you are likely concerned with whether or not it will be worth your time and money.  A Master’s degree can be the best investment you ever make in your career.  In order to make that investment payoff, you must first be sure that you actually need it.  Then, you have to work hard to make sure you maximize the benefits of your advanced degree while you are still in school.

Graduate school is often a tempting choice for students who are “lost” or unsure about what to do with their lives.  Unfortunately, you may waste a lot of money if you use your Master’s program as a place to discover yourself.  Only seriously consider this degree if you have distinct career goals in mind that it can help you achieve.

Be truthful with yourself about the benefits of getting a Master’s degree in your particular field.  Do you actually need one to be competitive?  Depending on your intended career, it may be mandatory for entry into the field.  In other cases, an advanced degree is only an added plus, and you will likely do just as well without it if you work hard.

If you have made the decision to pursue your Master’s degree, it’s time to begin maximizing the value of your graduate school experience.  Graduate schools offer many opportunities and resources to help students, so put them to use.  It is possible to boost your resume and make connections in your field while you are still in school.

Socialize with your faculty members.  This is not the same as trying to curry favor.  Rather, you will allow your professors to get to know more about you and your qualities so that they are better able to recommend you for job openings that are brought to their attention.  The faculty members of prestigious graduate degree programs are often actively sought by their industry ties to provide recommendations for open positions.  Of course, your professors can’t recommend you for opportunities if they don’t know you very well.

Work on getting a teacher’s assistantship position while you’re in graduate school.  Besides receiving free tuition and other benefits, you will gain work experience to put on your resume.  This is especially important for future educators who need experience teaching at a college level, but most employers are impressed by candidates with teaching experience.  You’ll build skills in public speaking, class management, and organization.

Finding an internship is important, and your school can help you do it.  An internship may even count as college credit for you.  Most importantly, though, it will provide work experience to boost your resume while you are still in school.  You’ll make connections in your field and build valuable skills.

A Master’s degree can be an excellent investment in your lifetime earnings and career success. See what option is best for your needs with online universities. It is important to make sure you are pursuing one for the right reasons and that you are committed to maximizing what your degree program has to offer.  You’ll make your graduate degrees online pay off if you are willing to take advantage of every resource.

 Acts of Charity

Acts of Charity

$1.51

Acts of Charity, Mark Peterson's first monograph, provides an intriguing glimpse of where and when wealth changes hands, capturing the ironies inherent in the world of fund-raising as well as the humor and creativity inevitably emanating from the staging of grand charitable events. Peterson captures the culture of philanthropy and reveals the true personalities behind these seemingly selfless acts. Peterson accompanied society matriarchs--who don Chanel gowns, elbow-length gloves, and flawless coiffures--as they attended New York City benefit galas that are as elite as they are charitable. Includes scenes from famed balls including the International Debutantes Ball, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, the Halloween Masquerade Ball at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Federick Law Olmstead Awards Lunch for the Central Park Conservancy, the Breast Cancer Awareness Awards Luncheon, the Jungle Masquerade for the Rainforest Alliance at the Wildlife Conservancy Gala at the Central Park Zoo, the Benefit for New York Hospital, the Landmark Foundation Dinner, and many others! Providing the perfect entree to high society, Peterson escorts us to the most exclusive evenings, introducing us to the characters who populate these posh parties including Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Rudy Guiliani, Barbara Walters, Isabella Rossellini, Ted Turner, Oscar de la Renta, among many other A-list legends.
