Churning out professional-looking documents is possible with the Brother HL-4050Cdnlt printer since it uses laser technology. It may be shared by a network or hooked up into a single computer, thanks to the multiple connectivity interfaces around. Input media capacity of up to 800 sheets and memory that's expandable allow the machine to be flexible enough to meet a busy workplace's changing productivity requirements with 4050CDNLT toner.
It only takes 16-17 seconds for the first page to be out, thanks to the speedy 300MHz NEC VR5500 processor and cartridges. The machine is fast enough to produce 20 monochrome or 7 color pages every minute. There's a 320MB Ram already included with it. However, there's a memory expansion slot (SO DIMM 144-PIN) around so You Can expand it to as large as 576MB by purchasing optional RAM.
Media types supported include plain paper, bond paper, recycled paper, labels, envelopes and transparencies. Supported media sizes range from letter, legal, executive, A4, A5, B5 and B6. It's also capable of handling custom media sizes from as small as 69.9 mm x 116 mm to as large as 216 mm x 406.4 mm. There are three auto-load media feeders (250-sheet, 500-sheet and 50-sheet multipurpose tray) available which enable the machine to handle as many as 800 input sheets.
For both color and monochrome print tasks, a maximum of 2400 x 600 dots per inch resolution is used. Such allows for rendering of crisp text and photo-realistic images. Combine it with the mere fact that it uses laser technology, it's capable of producing professional-looking documents, both for home and office applications.
Built-in duplex capability makes it possible to print on two sides of the paper automatically. Such feature allows for saving of time and energy as the user need not flip the pages manually. It also helps conserve paper supplies. Included language simulations are PostScript 3 and PCL 6 to take care of documents containing multiple font faces. Combined, they yield 66 scalable, 12 bitmapped, 13 barcode and 66 PostScript fonts.
There are two ways to plug this machine into a single computer. One is via the parallel IEEE 1284 port and the other via the hi-speed port. Another USB port is available for direct printing. You can plug into a USB flash memory, hard disk drive or a digital camera with PictBridge capability so you may directly print documents or photos found in them. Ethernet 100Base-TX/1000Base-TX port around makes it trouble-free to be used within a network.
Consumables are already included in the box. The black toner cartridge can yield up to 2500 pages, while the rest (cyan, yellow and magenta) each can yield as many as 1500 pages. These figures are based on 5 percent toner coverage. The waste toner collector, drum and transmission belt are also included with the purchase.
Found on the left of the top panel of the Brother HL-4050Cdnlt printer with 4050CDNLT cartridge, are well-laid out buttons and status display panel for hassle-free operation. It comes with a 41.9 cm (width) x 45.2 cm (height) x 47.5 (depth) form factor, and it tips the scale at 35.7 kg while using cartridges.
