Non-invasive Facelifting Options : a Review

I'm sure I'm not the only woman who would like to turn back the clock on their face.

I'm too scared to go 'under the knife', so I'm always looking for a non-invasive facelift with no side effects!

The first non-surgical facelift I tried was CACI. You may have heard of it, as it's been around for a long time. It uses microcurrents. I tried CACI in my forties, and I have to say I could barely see the difference - but then I had only a few wrinkles and just a slight sag, so there wasn't much to improve (I wonder now what I was worried about!).

The silly thing is, once I looked into it,CACI doesn't exercise sagging face muscles or treat wrinkles at all. Scientific trials have proved it improves circulation and boosts elastin and collagen, nothing more.

After CACI, I gave up on non-surgical facelifts, until I came across the “Sixty Minute Facelift”. The radiofrequency used in Thermage is proven to reduce wrinkles and firm sagging skin. Treatment takes an hour, and there’s no downtime. Ideal, I thought! Then I Googled 'Thermage' and found complaints from women who'd been left with permanent dents and dimples in their skin! Apparently, Thermage works by stimulating your body's own collagen. The doctor has no control over how evenly it grows. That's why some patients end up with bumps where it grows too much, or hollows where it doesn't. If that happens, the only way to correct it is plastic surgery.

Next, I considered IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), but changed my mind when I enquired at one salon and was told that they only used their IPL machine for hair removal. They said only medically qualified therapists could administer IPL for photorejuvenation, because of the risks of using very high settings. That word 'risk' was enough for me! Finally, I looked into phototherapy – and there, I hit paydirt! I researched the treatment and couldn't find a single negative review – or any side effects. I couldn't find an Omnilux salon so I settled for the Rejuvalight treatment instead, which is the same treatment by a different supplier. You Can read more about my phototherapy treatment here.
