A Terrific Beginner's Computer: HP Pavilion P6720f Desktop PC
As people consider purchasing a PC, many want their computer to do certain things well. They may want to watch videos online, surf the net, play games or just a place to store their digital photos.
A great beginning computer is the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC. This PC comes with a big hard drive and lots of RAM but it doesn't have a powerful graphics card instead it is shared with the processor. This HP computer is a budget computer so this is not the best one for hardcore gamers. While that may seem like a downside, at least you will be able to use your time doing real computer work instead of playing games.
The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is just $600 but comes with AMD's 2.9GHz Phenom ll 840T quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Furthermore, this HP computer comes equipped with 802.11n Wi-Fi, ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, and a DVD burner.
The computer tower sports a plain, standard black chassis, but the front is made of glossy black plastic. There is an additional bay beneath the DVD panel if you want to add another hard drive or possibly a Blu-Ray player. It is more or less 7 inches wide, with the power button found on the top, and not too exceptional in looks. Naturally, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC includes your regular keyboard and mouse. While many budget computer systems are loaded with all types of software, this HP computer doesn't not have much. Several trial ware, and HP's MediaSmart video and music playback suite.
The PC also comes with several input ports and a multi-format card reader. This computer from HP also has two USB 2.0 ports in the front and microphone and headphone jacks. As this is a budget computer system, and not for multimedia, a few things are missing. The rear of the computer features an Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, one DVI-out, one VGA-out, and an S/PDIF-out. Also, this HP computer comes with 7.1 surround sound support. As your computing needs grow, this HP computer can be very limiting. Inside the computer case, the wires are all bunched in the middle. There isn't anything that can be done when it comes to installing more parts. There is a slot to put in a video card.
As a gaming computer, the HP Pavilion p6720f is not the right option or even a PC to even consider. The integrated graphics chip was not designed to manage advanced graphics. More casual computer games are more suitable to these low-end PCs. If you are interested in something to push the boundaries of your multimedia needs, then the Micro Express MicroFlex 25B is a good but more expensive choice. In spite its graphic shortcomings, the Pavilion p6720f offers a lot of value for the price with generous hard drive space, lots of RAM and a powerful processor. This HP Pavilion computer was right for me, because it did everything that I needed it to do. It was easy to use, and really fast, and the price was good.
