Getting My Hands On A Pair Of Great Canon 7d And 60D DSLRs
My wife says I have plenty cameras, and I guess she is right, but I still lust after the Canon EOS 60D released in 2010.
I had the opportunity to play with both a 60D and a 7D recently and they got my heart racing.
The difference between a DSLR and compact and other snappers is so huge they should not all be called 'cameras'. OK. I do own a good compact, but not for trying to take prize photographs. I was comparing these two beauties with other DSLR's null The 60D and 7D Canons are not professional full frame cameras but there was little in the feel and sounds of the precision technology to argue that they are any less. One has to experience the rapid fire of 5FPS to appreciate what you get for the money. And the results show in the shots. Subtle differences in facial expressions give you great choices. The 60D did not have the same exhilarating 5PFS but the vari-angel screen and movie features made me want to become a film producer.
The final products gave me more options to choose from than I would ordinarily have and fully demonstrated the value of the high FPS. I imagined I could see the difference of the 18MP sensors over the 15 MP of the T1i, but I am not sure. Maybe in blown up landscapes.
I think the hype to warrant the huge price difference of the full frame professional cameras over the APS-C's is totally overplayed. The quality of APS sensor sizes are as good as the best of the film based SLR's. If anyone wants to challenge me, I have a reverse challenge.
Let's turn the tables. Take a good photograph and show it to one of these experts. Then let them tell you what size sensor was used. I believe they will spot a compact vs a DSLR but not an APS-C vs a Full Frame sensor.
Ultimately between the Canon 60D vs 7D I favoured the 60D.
If I did not have a bag full of camera kit already I would rush out and buy the Canon 60D today, but I will have to be satisfied with writing a review on the 60D vs 7D.
