After eating at Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse restaurant in Glenwood Springs a hundred times, I have finally decided to write a review for what I have decided is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at.

My job necessitates a drive between Grand Junction and Denver weekly. I visit my accounts along the way – mainly in the Roaring Fork Valley. Most mornings I leave Grand Junction before dawn and make my way to Aspen, bouncing from client to client until I arrive in Glenwood Springs – generally around lunch time.

I have always gone to big, national chain restaurants because they are always fairly consistent. That’s a pretty good method in most parts of the country, and after meals at a few of Glenwood’s restaurants I stuck by that maxim. I love diversity as much as everybody, but I was very dissatisfied. Eventually I solicited opinions from Glenwood Springs residents what local restaurants were hot. Of course, I received many different opinions but one common theme was Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse.

The residents invariably praised Juicy Lucy’s, and honestly, after finding the place I was impressed immediately. By immediately I suggest I was pleased even in the parking lot. Juicy Lucy’s is conveniently found at the heart of the fun Glenwood Springs downtown community and only yards from the huge Glenwood Hot Springs pool. It is only a short stroll to all kinds of trendy shops and remarkable architecture. Juicy Lucy’s itself is housed in a building that has been around over a hundred years, embellishing the historic atmosphere. Once inside, I was impressed at how the place accommodated me and my guest. The warm restaurant was jumping even at lunch, but the staff was gracious and polite, and we got a seat quickly.

Honestly, I have been there more times than I can count and I have never waited over 15 minutes to be seated – even on the few times I hit the place for supper on the way back to Grand Junction. Once at a table, the food has never disappointed. I have sampled everything from their great appetizer menu to their house specialties and have always loved it. Juicy Lucy’s has entensive wine choices – from great, affordable domestics to costly but magnificent imports.

They have remodeled the bar area, and the place looks better than ever. Regardless of how many times I have eaten there, I still stop at Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse restaurant whenever I am in Glenwood Springs.
