How To Have A Safe, Private, And Pretty Swimming Pool
Many a homeowner wants a home with a swimming pool. If yours features a pool, your home is probably the darling of the neighborhood. And it would become the love of the household if you keep 3 things in mind when landscaping your pool: safety, privacy, and beauty.
1. Safety
If you have have young children unable to swim, it is important that you place a fence that defines the pool's perimeter. swimming pool fences allow you to close off the pool if no one is using it. There are different types of fences to choose from---glass, steel, wood, even stone. The kind of fencing system you would erect around your pool depends on your preference. But whatever that fence is, make sure that it has a lockable gate and it is tall enough so small kids can't climb over it.
2. Privacy
You wouldn't want a stranger peeping on you while you are swimming in your pool with a two-piece, would you? Therefore, make sure your landscaping includes some sort of a screen. Placing tall trees or plants around the pool to shut off the view is a time-tested solution. Choose trees that are low-maintenance. Good species are hollies and broadleaf evergreens. Avoid fruit trees or big deciduous trees; you would have to regularly get rid of fallen leaves, fruit, and flowers floating on water. Worse, the outward direction of their root system may damage your pool's walls.
If planting trees is somehow impractical or undesired, construct a high wall around your place, but first ask local officials to know about the rules of fencing your lot. If a gray concrete wall looks too ugly, brighten it up by letting vines grow up the wall. The target is to make it appear as you have a fence of lush, flowering plants rather than an enormous concrete barrier. A professional landscaper knows what plants to utilize and how to make them "cover" your fence.
3. Beauty
The pool is a place where You Can relax and have fun. So make sure your swimming pool looks pretty all the time. Cut the grass around the pool regularly to make the area look like it's carpeted.
