Available in assorted bright colors, this matryoshka is related in style to the Semenov doll. The Maidan rose she carries is tied to a legend. As the legend goes, Alenka, a young lady from Maidan, led an uprising against the Czar and was burned at the stake. She was buried near her home where the Maidan rose is said to have grown on her grave.
