Types Of White Roses
Roses were a common feature of almost every garden in the country. You could see rose trees in the vast formal gardens of palaces and in the houses of aristocrats and other wealthy people. They used to be a symbol of nobility, but were also nurtured by common folk. You are hard pressed to find a garden growing roses at the present time. Only enthusiast choose to grow roses now. They have been phased out of more mainstream gardening. A sight hard to beat is that of standard rose trees gently blossoming in the sun.
Rose trees are considered hybrid roses in the fact that they are incorporated into a rootstock through grafting. The aim is to grow a small rose tree, which will only need pruning occassionally. It is hard to prune the rose tree and it requires an awful lot of time and effort, however it is worth the effort when you see the finished result. Once the tree has grown, it adds more than a touch of beauty to your garden.
Taking care of a rose tree garden isn’t much different than other forms of rose bush care. They also need pruning during early spring. It takes more effort to care for a rose tree, but the process is still the same. Rose trees are much bigger than rose plants, therefore they require a slightly different pruning technique. Poor quality sheers can lead to damage of the rose tree, so be sure to use sharp sheers. You Can use bleach, water, and a toothbrush to maintain and clean the tools.
Make sure that you position the sheers at an angle of 45 degrees when cutting the stem. This is done to encourage growth in an outwards direction, towards the sun, rather than curling in on itself. This also regulates air flow and reduces the possibility of contracting diseases. By removing stems that are dying, you create room for new stems and allow the plant to continue on in it's growth cycle. Regular pruning is necessary for the roses in your rose tree garden to continue having new blooms and to maintain their tree-like shape.
