Jewelry Box Large Sized for All Your Jewelry Decorated with Red Narra Wood
Getting a jewelry box large enough to hold your entire collection of exquisite jewelry is not a very difficult task if you know what you are looking for. A large jewelry box will help you sort and arrange your collection in sets based on the type of the jewelry, the size of the jewelry, the color, etc. You will find it much easier to locate the pieces you want to match with a particular outfit.
A box that big can look out of place on your dresser if it is not beautiful by itself; like a handcrafted jewelry box with some exotic marquetry work done on it. The evocative designs on the jewelry box should take attention away from Its Size! If you are not on a tight budget, you could buy a box that is entirely made out a rare or exotic wood like the Red Narra. If not, You Can still get some beautiful artwork done with the same wood on an elegantly carved box made out of white mahogany or rubber wood. This will work out much cheaper as the wood is locally available as opposed to rare wood, which is imported.
The Red Narra Wood (Pterocarpus indicus) is predominantly found in northern Australasia and Asia - Burma, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, etc and it is revered as the National Tree of the Philippines. It comes from the Pea Family (Fabacea or Leguminosae). It is also known by many different names in different parts of the globe: Asana, Burmese Rosewood, Kaibocca Wood, Tnug, Sonokembang, Sena, Angsana, Andaman Redwood, etc, are some of the more common names.
The same tree produces the breathtaking Amboyna Burl. The height of the tree is about 40 m. and the width of the trunk spans some 2 m. You will find on most of these trees, buttresses that extend upward and outward all around the tree. It is a very heavy and hardwood.
In some places, the hardwood could exhibit a purple color but mostly it is colored a reddish orange, rose, or reddish tan. In fact, when you hold up a piece of this wood to the light, you will be able to see its appearance change at every angle. Due to an inherent quality of the wood cells, this wood becomes a beautiful opalescent color when placed in water.
Red Narra Wood is ideal for marquetry because of its rich colour and ability to be polished well and the patterns of the grain and the intense colours are unparalleled by any other wood. Gifting yourself a beautifully handcrafted wood jewelry box with exquisite marquetry may very well be the best gift you could give your jewelry and yourself!
This article was brought to you by MarqART Gift Shop. Our jewelry boxes show unique wood grain patterns and colors assembled into beautiful designs of breathtaking beauty. A fine addition to your dressing table or as a gift. Please visit http://www.marqartgiftshop.com to browse & buy exotic jewelry boxes that will give you a lifetime of pleasure!
