How to Determine if Your Marriage is Headed for Failure
There are lots of reasons why marriages fall apart. In some cases, the changes are so subtle over time, that the couple doesn't even know where things went wrong. By the time they figure out that there's a problem, they're already headed to divorce court. However, if you're more astute about watching your relationship for clues that things are working the way they should be, you should have time to remedy the problem and heal your ailing union.
One of the main problems in some marriage is a lack of communication. It's quite common for couples to argue or disagree about certain things. Miscommunication is a form of arguing. You may think you're being clear, but your partner may stillbe left misinterpreting your words. You Can try to make a commitment that you and your spouse are no longer going to argue even if you feel that you're right about a certain situation. Dissension is a wedge that will push the two of you even farther apart.
Your marriage will also be headed for trouble thanks to lack of romance. You'll have to admit that romance was the catalyst that got your together in the first place, but the feelings can go dormant if you don't work on them over the years. Other obligations will start taking priority over your intimate time together, things such as jobs and children. All of a sudden, you're too tired or too rushed to stop and get down to romance with your spouse. If this happens, you can expect your marriage to fall apart sooner or later. This is something that can be fixed fortunately. Give your spouse a thoughtful gift. Even if you get little response from your spouse to start with, keep on with your efforts, and they will eventually pay off.
It's important that you also have realistic expectations for your marriage. You shouldn't use other marriages to gauge yours. Don't go into a marriage thinking that your husband will act just like your best friend's husband. If you set your expectations too high, your partner may not be able to live up to them.
